Asana Hues (b. Casey Hughes, 1991, Coldstream, BC) is a visual artist whose work explores the fundamental patterns of nature and the deeper aspects of being. Rooted in Yogic and Buddhist philosophy, Western Esotericism, and his Celtic heritage, Asana’s practice bridges spirituality and material form, often working with wood and other organic elements. He approaches creation as a dance with nature—a collaboration that invites unexpected shapes and subtle harmonies to emerge through process and intuition.
Asana holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from UBC Okanagan. His work has been exhibited throughout the Okanagan region, including at the Kelowna Art Gallery’s Glass Gallery and Headbones Gallery in Vernon, with permanent public installations in Lake Country and a sculpture currently on display outside the Lake Country Art Gallery. His artistic reach extends beyond the gallery context, with exhibitions at Shambhala Music Festival, Burning Man, and internationally at Harvard Divinity School’s Spirituality and the Arts Conference (2024), where he presented his series Chakra Studies.
Across sculpture, painting, and installation, Asana maintains a practice that is spiritually, sociologically, and ecologically informed. His work invites reflection on interconnectedness—between self, environment, and the unseen structures that shape our shared experience.
